Another classic!

What a fantastic, fast paced story by Ms. Blakely. Who doesn't love a swoony accent? Who doesn't love a romantical man? Who doesn't love a woman who knows her mind and what she wants? If you answered yes to these questions then this is the book for you! This is the story of January and Liam. Next door neighbors that become so much more! I absolutely loved the dialogue and the dry humor of this story! I was chuckling right along with the characters as I read. January is a single mom, knows what she wants and doesn't want to deviate from the plans she has made. She owns her own business and she doesn't apologize for dominating in a man's world. When she meets her new neighbor, sparks fly and plans that seem so solid to her become a bit hazy.  But I admired the fact that she sticks to what she wants when it's important and not bowing down to meet Liam's needs. Liam has come home (by way of NYC and Surrey) to take over his father's practice. He knows what he wants too, a family for himself and his son.  Liam and January's chemistry is so believable and charming and I fell hard for the both of them!  Another fantastic story from the great and talented mind of Lauren Blakely!

3.5 stars The Dream Guy Next Door was a sweet single parents romance. Liam and January are next door neighbors. They try to fight their attraction as they are looking for different things. However being just friends and next door neighbors did not satisfy them. I enjoyed reading about their friendship. They got along so well. The banter and interactions were entertaining. So it was just a matter of time before the friendship would lead to more. I liked the progression of their relationship. It was heartwarming to see the care and love they had for each other grow. I also loved how Liam and January were great parents to their kids, Ethan (Liam) and Wednesday (January). Those kids were just the best. Overall this was a nice story with the typical Lauren Blakley flair.

Lauren never disappoints! Next door neighbors, both with kids and both wanting different things in their lives but fighting the hot sizzling attraction. Sexy Woman handy with a hammer and a man with a sexy accent, both swoon worthy perfect combination of a great read! Can go wrong with a HEA and the great writing style of this author!!

It wasn’t that I didn’t like the story. I just didn’t love it. It started slow and at times I found myself drifting during the story. I love Lauren’s books but this one wasn’t one of my favorites. Your not going to love every single book that you read and that’s ok because you can still love the author and love their next book. Until next time y’all happy reading.
